In this workshop, policymakers created action plans for women’s sports policy. In addition, a workshop on empowering young women was held for the next generation of female leaders, mainly in the field of sports.
Future
Within the Gender Equality through sports project, ASEAN governments will collaborate with their sports related organizations to implement the action plans and other projects which were developed during the “ASEAN-Japan Workshop on Promoting Gender Equality in Sports”, as well as follow-up workshops such as empowerment program of young women through sports, cooperating with each country.
In addition, we will promote “gender equality” in sport by providing opportunities for women leaders, sports leaders, trainers, etc., nominated by their respective governments, to acquire leadership skills and knowledge of “sport and gender” necessary to lead women’s sports from an international perspective.
