Greeting from the Executive Director
Executive Director, Japanese Center for Research on Women in Sport
Professor of Sport Management, the Graduate School of Health and Sports Science at Juntendo University
The Japanese Center for Research on Women in Sport (JCRWS) started its activities under a new research structure in April 2019. We have achieved many results this year in the “Establishment of Research Infrastructure for Female Athlete Condition Management,” a five-year project supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology to form a strategic infrastructure for private universities, which began in 2014. Once again, we would like to express our gratitude to all those who continue to support the Japanese Center for Research on Women in Sport (JCRWS).
Once again, I would like to confirm the three directions of the JCRWS.
The first is to further develop research on “conditioning of female athletes”.
Second, to conduct “research on the development of female leaders and promotion of sport participation”.
The third is to conduct “research that contributes to improved health and performance for all women”.
Thanks to the efforts of our researchers, we were able to publish many research results, write many papers and submit them to various journals, and achieve results that led to their adoption in the last fiscal year. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you again.
We are pleased to announce that the WCA will be held again this year in Karuizawa. The results of this academy were presented at the IWG World Conference on Women and Sport in New Zealand last year, and will be presented at the ICCE Global Coach Conference 2023 in Singapore this year.
With a firm focus on the above three directions, we including dedicated staff members will continue to move forward by presenting the results of our research one after another, including the challenge of new themes.
We appreciate your continued support and cooperation.

Executive Director, Etsuko Ogasawara, Ph.D
