At the beginning of the “General Lecture”, Senior Associate Professor Ms. Natsue Koikawa of the Juntendo University Faculty of Health and Sports Science explained about the screening survey concerning the “3 cardinal symptoms of female athletes” which was conducted among junior high school and high school students by the Japanese Center for Research on Women in Sport.
Then, Dr. Takao Matsuda, Director of Nishibeppu National Hospital Sports Medicine Center, gave a lecture on the theme “Healthcare Support for Junior Female Athletes” to explain the essential points that need to be acquainted when examining female athletes. Furthermore, Professor Shihoko Suzuki from the Kanagawa University of Human Services gave a lecture on the theme “The Role of Certified Sports Nutritionists and Registered Dietitians in Junior Female Athletes Support” to emphasize the importance of avoiding female athletes in their period of growth to become short in energy.

Both Dr. Matsuda and Professor Suzuki pointed out that both doctors and medical professionals, and sports nutritionists and registered dietitians should mutually share information to make efforts and cooperate to prevent female athletes to suffer from amenorrhea or osteoporosis due to the lack of energy intake.
After the general lecture, an “exercise” was performed which included case studies to examine the actual cases and actively exchange opinions among the participants. It was an excellent opportunity for the participants to socialize with a wide range of people across occupations.
