Report of the “Female Athlete Active Support Seminar 2021”
The “Female Athlete Active Support Seminar 2021” was held online on Thursday, February 11th, 2021.
In addition to the presentation of the “PPE for female athletes,” an online health check tool for female athletes developed based on research evidence, by Dr. Mary Jane de Souza, a pioneer in the FAT (Female Athlete Triad) study, who has provided significant support for this research, and Dr. Nancy I. Williams gave their keynote speeches.
In the panel discussion, we heard from people who worked with athletes as coaches and doctors, giving us a sense of what it is like to be in the field.

The audiences included athletes, coaches, sports nutritionists & dietitians, trainers, teachers (including school nurses), parents, sports organization officials, and members of the media, ranging in age from teens to 60s. In particular, more athletes participated in the seminar than in previous events, making it a groundbreaking seminar that took advantage of being online.
