Awarded the “84 Selection 2018” at the National Dietetic Conference 2018

Preceding the “Nutrition Day/Nutrition Week” in August, the “National Dietetic Conference 2018” was held in Pacifico Yokohama on Saturday, July 28. At the awards ceremony of the conference, Ms. Ikuko Sato (Certified Sports Nutritionist at Women’s Sports Medicine Clinic, Juntendo University Hospital, and Juntendo University Urayasu Hospital) was awarded the “84 Selection 2018”.
“84 Selection 2018” is given to individuals and groups who contributed to the nutrition improvement activities that reflect the theme of the conference which changes each year. This year, the awards were given to 1 individual and 2 groups, and the award was given to Ms. Sato in recognition of her efforts to the establishment of nutritional guidance in line with sports nutrition management at the “Women’s Sports Medicine Clinic”.
During the four years since the opening of the “Women’s Sports Medicine Clinic” in October 2014, more than 1200 nutritional guidance was conducted to female athletes of all levels in a wide range of age groups. From elementary school students to women in their 40s, female athletes from various sports and environments visited the Clinic. The current situation and research results were introduced in the presentation by Ms. Sato held in the special exhibition space in the venue of the National Dietetic Conference and attracted a lot of attention from the participants.

“It is an honor to receive such a wonderful award. I would like to continue to sincerely confront the guidance of female athletes.” Expressing her pleasure of receiving the award, Ms. Sato shared her aspirations for the future. Ms. Sato continues to provide nutritional guidance to athletes at the “Women’s Sports Medicine Clinic” at Juntendo University Hospital and Juntendo University Urayasu Hospital.
