In 2014, we established the Japanese Center for Research on Women in Sport (JCRWS) at Juntendo University and have been promoting research and awareness-raising activities for female athletes, female leaders, and coaches. I feel that this award was given not only to me but to all of our colleagues who worked with us.”

She also talked about her future aspirations, “I think we need a little more effort until we won’t have to mention about the difference between male and female in sports. There are still few women in leader positions such as coaches and executives. I would like to continue to work hard in the background toward Tokyo 2020, with the support from each relevant organizations.”

Japanese Center for Research on Women in Sport with Executive Director Dr. Ogasawara will continue to do our best for the further development of women and sport and to provide support for female athletes.
